Bathroom Remodeling in Bernardsville, NJ

The Mountain and the village.
The Gladstone Branch came through in 1872 and was soon nicknamed the millionaire's special. New York financiers followed it up the hill.
The Mountain Colony's estates date from the decades after the Civil War, and some of those houses, or the carriage houses and cottages that came with them, are still homes. Below them, the Olcott Avenue Historic District, added to the National Register in 2009, covers 28 acres of Tudor Revival, Colonial Revival and Craftsman houses built in the early twentieth century as a middle-class neighborhood serving the estates. The borough itself separated from Bernards Township in 1924.
Growth was gradual after that: 3,336 residents in 1930, 5,515 in 1960, 7,893 in 2020 (U.S. Census). So the postwar streets are there, but they never overwhelmed the older fabric the way they did in the towns closer to Newark.
The bathrooms match the houses. Estate-era rooms are large, with long plumbing runs and heavy tile; Olcott-era rooms are small and well built; postwar ones are standard and simply worn out.
